A warm welcome to AAICON 2026 to be held in Tirupati on 12 - 13, December, 2026.
Acupuncture is a time-tested, evidence-based therapeutic system practiced in 196 countries worldwide, developed through centuries of clinical experience, it is widely used in the management of chronic pain and a variety of musculoskeletal, neurological, gastrointestinal, allergic, stress-related, anxiety-related, and supportive cancer-care conditions. Research suggests that acupuncture can help modulate inflammatory responses and may have a supportive role in the management of sepsis, alongside conventional medical care. Increasing evidence also supports its use in emergency and critical care settings, where it can enhance recovery and help to reduce reliance on pain medications, including opioids. Acupuncture is recognized by the World Health Organization, which encourages its integration into health services. Traditional acupuncture is also included in the Intangible Cultural Heritage list of UNESCO.
As a safe, effective, and cost-efficient healthcare approach, acupuncture has the potential to improve quality of life and benefit a broader section of society.
